TASHLA 369 PTY LTD
PRESENTS
WHERE IT ALL BEGAN!
Our Story
Tashla 369 Pty Ltd was founded by husband and wife team, Shane and Taleese Penna after they experienced a near miss situation involving their 2 and a half year old son.
Shane and Taleese and their active three children were enjoying Christmas festivities with family on a rural property in Western QLD, Christmas Day of 2014 when their middle child decided to take a little walk away from everyone on the verandah. Thankfully, it was noticed that he was missing very quickly and a search of the property began. Shane and Taleese had discussed the risks of the 6 acre property, noting that there are two dams and that all children will need a close eye on them at all times.
Shane and Taleese headed in separate directions to the two dams on the property fearing that their little boy had wanted to explore and cool off. It was a staggering 42 degrees Celsius that day and the humidity hitting the 85% mark, making the temperature feel much higher.
Shane had just so happened to turn his head in the direction of their parked, unlocked vehicle and noticed his little boys head, just visible in the back seat. Feeling extremely happy to have found him so quickly, Shane opened the door to find that Kyron, his son, was visibly distressed, red and sweating from being in the car that was parked in the direct sunlight.
After cooling Kyron down and making sure he drank plenty of water, the focus turned and Shane and Taleese began questioning... What could have happened? How could he not free himself? How often does this happen? Why can't it be prevented?
After the Christmas period the research began. Taleese researched all day and well into the late night for two straight months. In that time she found that up to 50 children die each year, across Australia and the US, by hot vehicle entrapment. These numbers are made up by three different variables. The Forgotten Children, the children that are adventurous (Much like Kyron) and gained access to a parked vehicle and the intentionally left children - making up just 9% of the fatalites.
The research continued and Taleese found that there is nothing at all available to prevent ALL cases of hot vehicle entrapment. There has been a few different low budget items and apps developed to prevent a small percentage of the cases, but never has anything been developed to prevent them all.
Taleese also noted the marketing obstacle of "Why would I ever forget my child?" "My child would never get into my car" unfortunately these obstacles will always be present. This is why the dTec SAFEKAM has been designed to be the ultimate addition to all vehicles, while also overcoming the marketing obstacles.
On the 24th of March 2015, Shane and Taleese took the huge step of investing in a provisional patent for a device design created by Taleese.
Since this day so much has occurred. From the patent filing to awards nights, engineer meetings and anything in between.
